Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Web4Humans (“we”, “us”) provides a browser extension and website that
analyze web pages in your search results and flag content likely written by AI.
This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, our authentication provider
(Supabase Auth) stores your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your basic
Google profile identifiers. We do not receive your Google password.
- Pages you ask us to analyze. When the extension is active on a
Google results page, it sends the URLs of the results to our backend. Our backend
fetches each page and extracts its main text to score it for AI-generated content.
- Detection results & usage. We store AI-probability scores keyed by
URL (a shared cache), the ID of the account that first requested a given URL, and counts
of how many analyses you run (to enforce free-tier limits).
- Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We store your
Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your subscription status —
we never see or store your full card number.
- Local storage. Your sign-in session token is stored in your browser
(extension storage and/or site local storage) so you stay signed in.
2. How we use information
- To analyze pages and return AI-detection scores.
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To provide free-trial and subscription access, and to process payments.
- To cache results so repeated pages load faster and cost less to analyze.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
3. Service providers
We share data with the following processors only as needed to run the service:
- Supabase — authentication and database.
- Winston AI — receives extracted page text to compute AI-detection scores.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- Google — only if you choose Google sign-in.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to
train AI models.
4. Data retention
- Cached URL scores are refreshed periodically (currently retained up to 7 days before
re-analysis).
- Account and subscription records are kept while your account is active and as required
to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
- You can request deletion of your account data at any time (see Contact below).
5. Your choices and rights
- Sign out at any time to stop sending data from the extension.
- Uninstall the extension to stop all page analysis.
- Cancel your subscription from your account page or the Stripe customer portal.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
6. Children
Web4Humans is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating
the “Last updated” date above.
